ToggleIngredients for Filipino Embutido

Prepare the following ingredients:
- 600 g ground pork
- 1 raw egg
- 1 small carrot, finely diced
- ½ red bell pepper, finely diced
- ½ green bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 50 g raisins
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar, optional
- 2 hard-boiled eggs, cut into wedges
- 2 hotdogs or sausages, sliced lengthwise, optional
You will also need aluminum foil or a heat-resistant wrapping material suitable for steaming.
Step 1: Prepare the Embutido Mixture
Place the ground pork in a large mixing bowl.
Add the diced carrot, bell peppers, onion, garlic, raisins, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, salt, black pepper, and raw egg.
Mix everything thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
The mixture should feel moist but firm enough to hold its shape. If it feels too wet, add a small amount of breadcrumbs.
Avoid mixing excessively, as overworking the pork can make the finished Embutido too dense.
Step 2: Shape the Embutido
Lay a large sheet of aluminum foil on a clean work surface.
Place part of the pork mixture in the center and flatten it into a rectangle approximately 1.5–2 cm thick.
Arrange the hard-boiled egg wedges and sausage strips along the center.
Carefully roll the pork mixture around the filling to form a compact cylinder.
Wrap the foil firmly around the Embutido and twist or fold both ends securely.
Repeat the process if making more than one roll.
Step 3: Prepare the KÜ KÜCHEN KXW180-180B
Fill the water reservoir of the KÜ KÜCHEN Steam Air Fryer KXW180-180B with enough clean water for the steaming cycle.
Place the wrapped Embutido rolls on the steaming tray while leaving enough space around each roll for steam circulation.
For this recipe, use:
Steam Mode: F-1 – Pure Steam
The F-1 mode provides continuous steam, making it well suited for traditional steamed dishes such as Filipino Embutido.
The Turbo Steam system generates steam from the lower section while circulation inside the cooking chamber helps distribute heat and moisture around the food.
Step 4: Steam the Embutido
Place the steaming tray inside the KXW180-180B.
A practical starting setting is:
Temperature: approximately 100°C
Cooking time: approximately 35–45 minutes
Cooking time will depend on the thickness and diameter of the Embutido rolls.
For thicker rolls, additional steaming time may be required.
The center of the pork mixture should reach an internal temperature of at least 71°C before serving.
Step 5: Cool Before Slicing
Once the Embutido is fully cooked, carefully remove it from the appliance.
Allow the rolls to rest for approximately 10–15 minutes before opening the foil.
For cleaner slices, you can also refrigerate the cooked Embutido until completely chilled.
Once cooled, unwrap and cut into slices approximately 1.5–2 cm thick.
This reveals the colorful combination of pork, vegetables, raisins, sausage, and hard-boiled egg inside.
Step 6: Optional Golden Finish
Filipino Embutido can be served immediately after steaming, but it can also be lightly browned before serving.
Arrange the sliced Embutido on the air-fry or baking tray.
Lightly brush the surface with oil.
Cook at approximately:
Temperature: 180°C
Time: 5–7 minutes
The 3D Hot Air system helps lightly brown the outside while keeping the already-steamed center tender.
Watch the slices carefully to prevent them from becoming dry.
How to Serve Filipino Embutido
Serve the Embutido warm or at room temperature with:
- Steamed rice
- Garlic rice
- Tomato ketchup
- Banana ketchup
- Fresh vegetables
- Pickled vegetables
The combination of savory pork, sweet raisins, vegetables, egg, and sausage makes Embutido suitable for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or festive family meals.
Why Make Embutido with the KXW180-180B?
The KÜ KÜCHEN Steam Air Fryer KXW180-180B combines steaming and hot-air cooking within one 16L appliance.
For Embutido, the F-1 Pure Steam Mode allows the pork meatloaf to cook gently with continuous moisture, helping maintain a soft and juicy texture.
After steaming, users can switch to hot-air cooking when a slightly browned exterior is preferred.
This flexibility is one of the advantages of combining Turbo Steam with the appliance’s 3D Hot Air system.
The spacious 16L cooking chamber also provides enough room to prepare multiple Embutido rolls depending on their size.
